Incoming Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho is reported to be texting Manchester United target, Marco Verratti.
The play maker is the summer transfer target for The Red Devils ahead of the coming season. According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United is looking at a bid of £79million to lure the player to Old Trafford.
The report added that the club will offer the very talented midfielder a £6.7m-a-year contract for the move. The report has been circulating in France via radio station Europe 1. The French news source say the Portuguese tactician been in constant contact with Verratti about a move and has messaged him on numerous occasions.
Verratti has been stunning for French Champions Paris St. Germian, helping them to multiple French Ligue 1 victories. He remain under contract until 2020 with the option of a further year with the club but the likely free transfer of former PSG forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic will mean his move would be unlikely. Though there are reports that Ibrahimovic is trying to convince the player to join him at Manchester United so they could storm the league but PSG would most likely not want its top two stars to leave at once.
Mourinho is ready to splash the cash to trigger the release of the player, after already paying £30m this month to sign relatively unknown defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal. The coach is even reported to have up to £200m to spend on transfers this summer, given the huge task he has to try and lift the English Premier League in his first season but ensure they get UEFA Champions League qualification next season. Paul Pogba’s name is still on the radar to return to the club he left years ago though The Red Devils will face real competition from Real Madrid to land the player this summer.
