Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has claimed that new manager Louis van Gaal will thoroughly enjoyed his time at the club. Manchester United appointed the Dutchman’s replacement for David Moyes, who was sacked after just 10 months in charge of the club. Van Gaal will be having a major rebuilding job in his hands after United finished in a disappointing seventh last season. Even though they will be without any form of European football in the new Premier League season, they have been able to make significant additions to the squad with the likes of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera coming to the club for more than £ 50 million.
In order to assist the new manager, Giggs will be taking up the role as the assistant manager. He was a favourite to take over the reins from David Moyes on a permanent basis, but Giggs is thought to have been exhibited about the prospect of learning from van Gaal. He says that the 62-year-old, who will be coming straight after the World Cup 2014 ends, will surely take United to the top of the table once again. Expectations are already high after Netherlands have done extremely well under Van Gaal at the World Cup.
United are expected to sign a couple more players in the next few weeks. “I got a taste in the dugout last season and I’m looking forward to working with Louis. He won’t be afraid of taking over at Manchester United. He’ll relish it. He has a clear philosophy and he sticks to that. He’s been at huge clubs, but in my view this is the biggest. It’s tough to win the league but that’s why we’ll try to do,” said the United assistant manager.
Netherlands went out of the World Cup at the semifinals after a penalty shootout loss at the hands of Argentina.
